Hoopes 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon - Magnum

It's definitely Oakville-like in its youthful firmness, even more so in its signature display of red cherry, red currant, red plum and mineral fruit tones and in the synergy generated when that fruit is coupled to the vanilla-baking spice richness of oak. The result is a wine that is claret-like in structure, with a lean and youthful mid-palate feel, but with fine length and impressive polish. Sauced meat entrees will bring its cherry, currant, earth and vanilla flavors into the foreground, but five years in the cellar will be needed to fully reveal all the class this bottling has to offer.
