Firriato 2005 Santagostina Rosso

The Santagostino Rosso from Firriato is produced from 50% Nero d'Avola grapes and 50% Syrah grapes harvested from some of the oldest vines in Sicily. This wine is extreme and intense with a deep ruby red color, beautiful notes of mature red fruits, and an underlying hint of spices. The palate is filled with caressing elegant tannins that give it a long, warm persistent finish. Immense ripe fruit and a silky texture make this an exceptional red wine that will please even the most discriminating connoisseur. Serve with grilled meats and game, heavier cheeses and tomato or meat based pastas.
