Domaine Ostertag 2006 Muenchberg Alsace Grand Cru Riesling

Muenchberg means the "monk mountain". Many centuries ago, monks first cultivated vineyards in this South orientated valley at the foot of the Vosges mountains.

The 2006 has a very nice yellow color, with yellow fruits (mango and peach) and citrus fruits aromas,and flowery notes. Mellow and smart... this Grand Cru Riesling is among the best of its class.

Fresh and pulpous when young, it will express its minerality when it becomes older (you can keep it up to 15 and 20 years). Serve fresh with foie gras or Roquefort.
