Hahn 2006 Pinot Noir

What the winery can't tell you about this luscious little Pinot Noir is that the fruit comes from their vineyards in the Santa Lucia Highlands, one of the best spots to grow Pinot Noir in California. An agreement with local growers prevents Hahn from putting this on the label; but enough with that. The important thing here is this is really good juice at a really affordable price. Candied cherries, Mandarin orange, dried sage and lavender notes make up the ovely bouquet. The wine presents itself in a medium bodied style with plenty of fresh red fruit, notes of vanilla, lovely acidity and just all-around great balance. This is $25 Pinot Noir with a $13 price tag! One of the best Pinot's we've tasted in this price range.
