Alcina Cellars 2005 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast Sangiacomo

The nose starts off a bit reduced, no doubt related to lack of nutrients in the vineyards. Notes of tart cherry, cranberry, cinnamon and citrus peel give away the wine's cold climate heritage. Palate follows with very plush, almost velvety and silky impression, with notes of cherry, cranberry, red currant, grapefruit peel, christmas spice box and cloves. Good acidity and silky tannins make for a very elegant and a very well balanced wine with laser beam like delivery of flavors and finish. Unfined and unfiltered. 264 cases produced.
