Hall 2005 Merlot

With more than 500 acres of vineyard under their control, the Hall's have an amazing array of fruit options. Valley floor for ripeness and intensity, hillsides for backbone, select sites for perfume and depth - you get the picture. High-toned red fruits and berries dominate the nose and mouth in their '04 with cedar spice notes and chewy tannins bringing up the rear. Craig and Kathryn Hall have made no secret of their desire to become a driving force in Napa Valley.
