The more ancient soleras (usually the base wine is well over 60 years of age) are bottled under the "Rare" caption, and often flirt with perfection. The non-vintage Rare Tokay Isabella is slightly less sweet (293 grams of residual sugar per liter) with a lighter amber color than the Muscat Merchant Prince. Nevertheless, it possesses superb intensity as well as palate presence with hints of honeysuckle, raisins, black tea, marmalade, and toffee. This is an extraordinary beverage that must be tasted to be believed.
