Domaine des Remizieres 2005 Saint-Joseph

Run by Philippe Desmeure and talented daughter Emilie, this 30 hectare Domaine has a tiny parcel on the south-facing granite soils of St Joseph. From stake-trained bush vines, this handpicked wine is aged for 15 months in oak barrels, of which 60% is new. An intense dark color with a full, fruity bouquet and plenty of spicy oak, this wine has a deliciously velvety palate, layered with creamy black fruit. The balancing acidity brings freshness to a very long and fine finish.
