Giol NV Prosecco Merlot Rating: AG Staff: 90 Points This wine is a brilliant pink salmon color that screams for your hand...and the corkscrew. Floral aromas and the smell of freshly sliced strawberries highlight the bouquet. The color plays tricks with one's mind, alluding to "sugar" and "sweet", however, the palate elegantly proclaims "dry" and "crisp!" with features of bing cherries just pulled from the tree, the aforementioned sliced strawberries with a dab of crème fraiche and hints of ripe apple.
It has marvelous structure in the mid-palate making it a great match with appetizers, cheeses and other light dishes. It also pairs well with decks, patios and sunsets! An unbelievable value! Appellation: Veneto, Italy
